It has been a cold winter. How cold? “…a value large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the last 100 years.”

It’s great news that 100 years of warming have been ‘erased’. One might expect to find, perhaps, that the tundra shrublands have retreated, the permafrost refirmed, villages in the arctic have leapt back upright and come out of the sea, the tropics have become smaller, the glaciers have advanced, and Larsen B has grown back.* All this and more because of one dizzyingly, slightly above average cold, winter in a La Niña year during a sun spot minimum.

Thank Sol for natural cycles to save us from AGW.

*These things didn’t really happen.
